Ray Bai, AIA, LEED AP

Ray is a Regional Managing Principal and Regional Practice Area Leader for Gensler Greater China. He brings 25 years of design and management experience in both China and the U.S., with a specialized focus in healthcare, hospitality, mixed-use, aviation, and senior living. Through his experience practicing in China over the past 13 years, Ray has accumulated a deep understanding of the local market and familiarity with the nuanced ways in which China-based clients develop projects and operate facilities. To help clients solve challenges, he provides multi-angle assessments and comprehensive strategies. Rooted by a strong belief in trusting both clients and design teams, Ray successfully leads and delivers large-scale, complex projects, while also fostering strong client relationships.

In his role, Ray is responsible for promoting Gensler’s diverse range of work throughout China. To that effect, he is recognized as a thought leader across several practice areas and directly leads the firm’s healthcare practice in China, based out of Gensler’s Shanghai office. He also identifies and brings in experts in other sectors across the firm in order to grow and reinforce key practices like hospitality, cities and urban design, mixed-use, and more.
