Edelman Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California

Gensler collaborated with Edelman on the design of their Los Angeles workplace, a vintage-inspired destination that flexes between office functions, client meetings, and special events. Situated within the Columbia Square mixed-use development, the plan for the space was influenced by the history of the campus, home to Hollywood’s first movie studio in the 1930s, with a “front of house” co-working cafe on the ground level and a more traditional office “backstage” on a higher floor.

The cafe is modeled around the idea of a social network in a physical space, hosting influencer and creator communities, with the opportunity for lifestyle content capture in the distinctive surroundings. Flexible design elements allow the cafe setting to flip to host town hall meetings or large events, with the terrazzo coffee counter easily converting to a bar and extra furniture stored within hidden closets. Designed with a focus on people, Edelman’s workplace supports the choice and well-being of its employees and aims to build client relationships through a unique, hybrid work and play environment.
