What makes an experience in retail, a workplace, or a museum go beyond “good” to become “exceptional”? As customer and employee expectations of experiences become increasingly sophisticated, it’s more important than ever to create engaging interactions between users and products, services, and environments.
Both Experience Design and Digital Experience Design are critical steps in the design practice that draw this distinction. Experience Design refers to a user’s entire journey, incorporating all of the physical and digital touchpoints they interact with, and the emotional states evoked throughout.
Experience Design is a powerful tool to transform how people interact with the built environment, as 2025 promises to be a landmark year for design that pushes the boundaries of data, hybrid technology, AI, multisensory inputs, and beyond.
