WIRED's new South-of-Market workspace supports integrated content development for both print and digital media. It brings together formerly separated groups to improve collaboration and allow for the quick and efficient creation of high-quality media content. Supporting the transition from traditional print journalism to integrated content development, the new workspace is organized by subject matter rather than media channel. It offers an open plan in which work groups are co-located in neighborhoods. Recording and photography studios provide new in-house capabilities. Building interventions to the former warehouse included widening interconnecting doorways, opening sightlines, and literally breaking down walls between groups.
