Challenge

Design Industries Foundations Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) is a nonprofit organization that raises funds for organizations that provide treatment, education, and assistance for people impacted by HIV/AIDS, homelessness, hunger, and mental health issues. From its headquarters in New York City, the organization produces several events designed to raise money and awareness for these important issues. As their 40th anniversary gala approached, the company partnered with Gensler to refresh their branding and visual communications.

Solution

DIFFA approached Gensler to expand and revitalize the look and feel of their 40th Anniversary Gala as well as for a series of new, small-scale annual events. DIFFA and Gensler have a longstanding partnership, and they share a passion for visual design and community impact. Together, they identified bold visuals and striking colors to inject a sense of fun and whimsy into the event communications. The resulting visual systems are designed to promote the events for years to come.

Impact

The new branding and visual language has helped DIFFA reach beyond their fundraising goals. One of the company’s smaller events known as Après Ski raised $100,000 for its partner organizations. The 40th Anniversary Gala raised over $400,000.
