Alex Phi, Assoc. AIA, NCARB

As a Design Director in Gensler’s Sports practice, based in Los Angeles, Alex brings his diverse expertise in multimedia backgrounds and sports to the firm. He embraces new design approaches to create architecture and exhibitions that enhance user interaction and experience in sports venues.

During his time at Gensler, Alex has worked on numerous sports and entertainment projects, including large-scale stadium and arena work for the Los Angeles Football Club, Austin Football Club, Arizona Coyotes, and New Orleans Saints. He regularly collaborates with multiple practice areas specialists in national and international Gensler offices to ensure that sports facilities are working efficiently as an anchor and economic driver for our larger district work. Alex recently completed the new best-in-class Division 1 football stadium for San Diego State University, Snapdragon Stadium.

Alex’s passion for cutting-edge multimedia design methods has helped him transform the design process as well as convey complex ideas to colleagues and clients. He has been active within Gensler in pushing the use of new technologies and VR/AR applications to fuel both project understanding and excitement for both clients and fans alike.
