Sasha Zeljic has more than 26 years of global experience designing complex, high-profile buildings and leading multidisciplinary teams across the world. Known for his ability to blend bold design with high performance, Sasha focuses on creating buildings that are both innovative and deeply responsive to their context. His approach is grounded in building strong client partnerships, team collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to design excellence.

Based in Gensler’s Chicago office, Sasha has held key leadership roles in the North Central Region, and now serves on Gensler’s Management Committee, where he co-leads the firm’s Lifestyle Sector. His portfolio includes internationally recognized award winning projects such as Shanghai Tower, Manila’s Finance Centre Tower, World Plaza, and Chicago projects Fulton West, 333 North Green, Shirley Ryan Ability Lab, and the Hub at The Prairie Shores.

Beyond the studio, Sasha is an active voice in the design community. He has partnered with organizations including the United Nations, UN-Habitat, and the International Council for Caring Communities, and served as chair of CTBUH’s Chicago chapter. Additionally, he is involved with ULI Chicago Product Council and The Magnificent Mile Association. Sasha holds both a B.Arch. and M.Arch. from the University of Belgrade, Serbia, and a M.Arch. from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
