Wurth Electronics Midcom Headquarters

Watertown, South Dakota

After a period of growth and expansion in the U.S., Wurth Electronics Midcom, a global market leader in electronic and electromechanical components manufacturing, is investing in its people and the community through a new, sustainably designed, employee-forward headquarters. With all roles under one roof, from administrative to engineering, the headquarters is focused on forming connections — between the global brand and the local culture, between departments within the building, and between staff worldwide.

By adapting the existing site and infrastructure with a significant three-story expansion, Gensler, in collaboration with CO-OP Architecture, designed the new headquarters with room for innovation and growth over the next decade. Spanning nearly half of the building’s footprint, an elevated outdoor park is a unique amenity space where staff can enjoy fresh air with views of the surrounding prairie and native plants. Currently pursuing LEED v4 Silver certification, the new facility affirms Wurth Electronics Midcom’s legacy and celebrates its South Dakota home, making a bold statement in wellness and sustainability-centered design.
