Virgin Media O2 Headquarters
London, United Kingdom
As the first major office investment since its merger in 2021, Virgin Media O2 (VMO2) needed a sustainable, inclusive, and ‘supercharged’ London headquarters to bring its newly united workforce together in a purpose-built environment that celebrates the brand.
Connectivity is central to the VMO2’s mission — this defines the ultra-connected workplace and is reflected in the brand’s move to Paddington, a tech and telecoms hub with high-speed rail linking to its other office. Following the merge, VMO2 sought a collaborative headquarters to gather and fulfill its ‘see what you can do’ purpose, spearheading innovation and exploring possibilities.
To tailor the workplace design to VMO2’s purpose and messaging, the brand palette is woven throughout the space, and every floor features destination zones that connect people across different stages of their mission – ‘connect + inform’, ‘supercharge’, ‘perform’, and ‘transform.’ The zones include informal hospitality-led arrival points on each level, as well as a top floor cafe and large event area.
With inclusivity as a key driver, differentiated destinations on each floor recognise varying needs, empowering individuals to select spaces that suit their preferences. Sustainability is also central to the project, which is targeting WELL Platinum, and BREEAM Outstanding certifications. The team integrated sustainable practices, including carbon tracking, resulting in approximately 630 tonnes of carbon saved through sustainable materials and strategies.
