Washington, D.C.
The Pew Charitable Trusts sought to grow and co-locate all of its D.C. programs in one impressive facility. The vision was for a “nonprofit village,” shared with other nonprofits, where even members of Congress would feel comfortable and receptive to the opportunities offered by Pew. Working in the 1980s-era office building selected, Gensler created a first-class, fully integrated AV conference center on the building’s upper five floors, yielding a range of spaces and configurations. A glass stair at the building’s façade unifies all floors and establishes a stately presence for this sustainable—and successful—facility.
