This 30-year-old resort required extensive renovations to bring it up-to-date and draw visitors. Working as the local architect, Gensler supported the design efforts of New York–based Champalimaud from design development through construction administration. The innovative incorporation of natural motifs and colors native to the island region of Hokkaido has transformed the Green Leaf Hotel into a stunning, world-class boutique hotel. Renovated areas include the lobby, bar lounge, ski valet, beer garden, restaurant, hot spring, spa and guest rooms.

北海道に位置する築３０年のリゾートホテル、ザ・グリーンリーフ・ニセコビレッジのリノベーションプロジェクト。 インテリア及び外装デザインはニューヨークのシャンパリモー社が行い、実施設計から現場監理までをゲンスラーがローカルアーキテクトとして手がけた。 現地の自然をモチーフにアクセントカラーや素材を効果的に使用し、世界クラスのブティックホテルへと変貌を遂げた。 エントランス及びロビー、バーラウンジ、スキーバレット、ビヤガーデン、レストラン、温泉、スパ、客室を改修した。
