This client enlisted Gensler to elevate their Berlin workplace with a dynamic new design to capture the distinct identity and innovative spirit of the team. The design concept, inspired by the client’s iconic flagship product, reimagines the office as an interactive journey. Four key brand colours define specific zones within the space, guiding employees through different activities: Work, Collaborate, Play/Socialise, and Recharge/Focus. Vibrant coloured lighting, inspired by game paths, connects zones and provides intuitive wayfinding.

The work area, featuring shades of blue, fosters focus and productivity, providing an environment tailored for individual tasks. Collaboration spaces, such as the library and multiple occupancy meeting booths, are energised with shades of vibrant red, encouraging teamwork and dynamic exchanges. The play and socialise zones stand out in bold pink, creating lively, engaging areas for connection and creativity. For moments of rest and reflection, the recharge lounge and solo booths are wrapped in soothing green, offering tranquil spaces for relaxation and rejuvenation.

The Recharge Lounge is a standout feature that is bathed in natural light and filled with greenery, designed as a tranquil space for relaxation and reconnection. The office is heavily comprised of inclusive and adaptable spaces to suit diverse work styles, with flexible furniture, curtains, and movable partitions. Smart acoustic panels throughout the office address noise concerns and create a comfortable atmosphere.

Gensler also developed a welcome guide and change management process to support employees in navigating the new space and adapting to its collaborative and agile style of working. The guide has since been recognised as a reference for future office projects for the client, setting a benchmark for integrating brand identity into workplace transformation.

Through a design that balances creativity, inclusivity, and sustainability, this new Berlin workspace has become somewhere employees can be proud of. It is an uplifting space that embodies the energy and playfulness of the client’s brand, encouraging connection, inspiration, and a renewed sense of belonging.
