Technology Company Headquarters
Irvine, California
For its new corporate headquarters campus, this large technology company sought a workplace that encouraged informal interactions, reflected its culture and inspired its employees. Business units are kept in close proximity to one another in four primary buildings connected by walking trails. In moving from a 100% enclosed office environment to one that’s 98% open, the firm reduced square footage per person while significantly increasing meeting and conference space. Taking a cue from chip design—in which connections for information flow are designed first—floor plates were designed around how people move, maximizing opportunities to connect.
