Santikos Embassy Theater

Guided by the client’s desire to replicate the glory days of the cinema while re-energizing its theater chain, Gensler San Antonio's renovation of the historic Santikos Embassy Theater has reimagined the lobby, common spaces, and amenities to create a turn-of-the-century feel for the theater, designed to replicate the first theater opened by philanthropist Louis Santikos in the early 1900s. The dark, rich interior features deep colors and plush materials, and the lobby provides a variety of comfortable lounge seating, high-end finishes, and a bar and concessions area redolent of times past. The immersive guest experience includes a series of displays exhibiting movie memorabilia from the sets of classic blockbusters.
