The world’s leading education company providing curriculum materials, learning tools and testing programs, Pearson leveraged its longstanding relationship with Gensler to guide the transformation of its workplace and real estate strategy amid an industry shift. Gensler transformed six floors of a former Manhattan warehouse into a progressive, open office that encourages collaboration and supports individual focus. Paralleling the transformation of Pearson’s business from print to digital, the design honors the rich architectural vocabulary of the area through the juxtaposition of old and new elements. Hoteling tables and touchdown areas bridge the open and semi-closed workspaces around each floor’s central knowledge hub, and nooks flanked by soft banquettes allow for quiet teamwork.
