Northern Arizona University Skydome

Constructed in 1977, the multi-use Skydome facility accommodates sporting events and commencements, as well as community functions such as concerts and trade shows. The renovation’s focus was to bring the facility into compliance with current codes while delivering a competitive edge and extending its life another 30 to 50 years. The project included the renovation of stadium seating, locker rooms, weight room, training room, restrooms, concessions, press box and office spaces, and wayfinding and branding strategies to refresh the facility’s spirit. The redesign also merges the arena with its locality, by creating an indoor-outdoor experience for spectators, student athletes, and the larger campus community.
