Hyundai Capital Open Studio

This freestanding, transparent enclosure within a street-level lobby serves as a video recording studio for employee productions in Hyundai Capital’s Seoul headquarters. The studio’s 11-foot-tall, two-inch-thick undulating acrylic panels are topped by a recessed LED light, creating a winding “tail” that conveys a sense of movement and draws attention to the activity within. Inside, an electrified grid supports audio-visual equipment, acoustic flooring features embedded fibers that create visual depth and whimsical light reflections, and an acoustic sheer window treatment provides privacy when needed. The studio also features display paneling for gallery exhibitions when the studio is not in use.
