Harvard Westlake School, River Park Campus

Gensler Sports is collaborating with Harvard-Westlake School to transform an existing sixteen-acre golf & tennis center into a mixed-use recreation complex, the Harvard-Westlake River Park Campus. An open-air facility offering a variety of athletic courts and fields for students and the community. Six acres of walking trails surround the site’s recirculating ponds, river observation area, tennis courts, pool, fields, and multipurpose center.

The River Park project represents an incredible opportunity to preserve much-needed open space and reintroduce native plants, trees, and animal life to this stretch of the LA River. The site blends neighborhood and greenway, providing a model for river revitalization that fulfills the City’s goals and design standards. Additional school and community benefits include a putting green, preservation of the historic golf clubhouse, cafés, a forward-thinking stormwater capture and re-use system, abundant underground parking, and improvements to adjacent public trails.

The project includes multipurpose courts, pool, strength and conditioning facilities, sports medicine, nutrition, wellness spaces, solar array, and a large rooftop terrace.
