Golden Gate Hotel & Casino

In renovating the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, the most historic hotel and casino in Las Vegas dating back to 1906, Gensler worked closely with the client to employ modern construction techniques while preserving the hotel’s historic character. The hotel’s original art deco exterior façade was preserved with the addition of a pin-stripe lighting motif to create a timeless, yet contemporary experience. Sourcing sustainable materials and utilizing innovative technology, Gensler’s redesign includes the addition of a 35,000-square-foot, five-story luxury tower comprising fourteen premier suites and two premium luxury penthouses featuring dramatic views of downtown Las Vegas. Accent lighting frames the vertical tower creating a dynamic nighttime presence, while a large media screen situated atop the tower anchors the hotel as a premier destination for large outdoor events, festivals and concerts. Completing the redesign is an updated lobby and dining area, as well as a new porte-cochere, creating a signature entranceway into the hotel.
