Challenge

The Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) welcomes more than a million visitors each year. Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, the internationally renowned campus serves as the central business district connection point and the city’s premier destination for sports, live entertainment, and conventions. To accommodate this traffic, the Congress Center Authority recognized the need to incorporate a world-class hotel and hospitality experience with a distinctly local atmosphere that would catalyze the revitalization of the surrounding neighborhood.

Solution

The new four-star Signia by Hilton Atlanta completes the GWCC campus. The 976-key, 42-story hotel includes over 100,000 square feet of meeting spaces, eight food and beverage experiences, and a dedicated wellness floor featuring a pool, fitness center, spa, and beauty bar. Signia redefines the conventional hotel layout with its innovative “stacked amenities” approach, creating multi-level connections to the surrounding community and offering unique indoor/outdoor spaces that reflect the city’s character.

Impact

By seamlessly integrating into the campus and celebrating Atlanta’s rich history, Signia by Hilton Atlanta serves as a dynamic hub for convention-goers and visitors partaking in the surrounding campus’ diverse activities. Set to become a new destination for upscale hospitality and world-class events, Signia will act as an economic catalyst, helping the GWCC campus generate an estimated $2 billion in economic growth, creating over 700 new jobs, and fostering diversity by collaborating with local talent pools, universities, and nonprofits.

We are excited to introduce this brand to our extensive portfolio in Atlanta, a dynamic destination that continues to play an important role in Hilton’s growth, and are proud of the positive impact this hotel will have on the community through local job creation partnerships and incremental convention and leisure business.
