This financial services firm guided its partners (those lucky young startups) to be the next global success story. Challenged to break the status quo of the typical financial office, Gensler created a space that encouraged their growth and expressed the creative tension inherent in cultivating entrepreneurs. The design team envisioned a greenhouse concept — a nurturing incubation space where natural light poured in and an open layout facilitated continuous flow between indoor and outdoor. This healthy environment provided light, air, views and an elemental materiality that spoke to their true identity. And in a bold move for a financial firm, the designers democratized the work environment through open planning and choice of work style to help entrepreneurs navigate the messy and iterative process of creating something new.
