CBRE's new 20,000-square-foot office, located on the 17th floor of 500 West 2nd Street tower, is one of the first that implements new Global Workplace Standards that Gensler developed for CBRE, with the major shift from traditional assigned seating to free desking. The office has huddle rooms for team work, focus rooms for individual work, day areas for traveling employees, open team areas, and touch down areas. The Global Workplace Standards aim to create offices that feel less corporate, and engage clients with a concierge-like experience, as well as encourage employees to move through the space, creating serendipitous interactions. There are no phones ringing in the reception area, clients may be offered a coffee while they wait, and there is beer and wine on tap.
