Blackpool Leisure Masterplan

Blackpool Central is a comprehensive masterplan for a unique recreation-driven mixed-use development that is set to revitalise and support Blackpool’s growth and regeneration. The vision for converting the former Blackpool Central station into a dynamic mixed-use destination represents the biggest investment in Blackpool since the world-famous Blackpool Tower opened in 1894. The development is a partnership between Nikal developments, Blackpool Council, and Media Invest Entertainment with Gensler as lead designer. The 17-acre development will include a state-of-the-art Chariots of the Gods-themed entertainment park and indoor adventure park inspired by the 1968 book of the same name. These recreational attractions components will be complemented by multiple new hotels, vastly expanded food and beverage offerings, and new residential developments.
