Airside D at Tampa International Airport

Tampa, Florida

Airside D at Tampa International Airport will usher in the future of aviation to Tampa — and is anticipated to serve up to 35 million annual passengers by 2037. Designed in partnership with Hensel Phelps and HNTB, the state-of-the-art aviation facility is a testament to the Tampa region’s exponential growth and will be the first new terminal at Tampa International Airport in nearly 20 years. Set to be completed in 2028, Airside D will offer 16 new gates to accommodate domestic and international operations. The terminal revolutionizes modern air travel by prioritizing both the passenger and employee experience through thoughtful design interventions that emphasize comfort, accessibility, and efficiency.

The two-story terminal building will feature a mezzanine for two airline lounges that boast views of the surrounding airfield and Tampa Bay, a new variety of shopping and dining experiences, and sophisticated signage and wayfinding. It will also include a new Automated People Mover (APM) shuttle guideway system, and an improved baggage handling system (BHS). Gensler is the Interior Architect for the aviation project.
