Gensler Veteran J. Kevin Heinly Named as Co-Regional Managing Principal

LOS ANGELES – Gensler, the world’s leading architecture, design, and planning firm, has announced the appointment of J. Kevin Heinly, AIA, LEED AP BD&C, as Co-Regional Managing Principal of the firm’s Southwest region, including offices in Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Newport Beach, Phoenix, and Las Vegas.

“We are thrilled to continue strengthening our leadership team in Gensler’s Southwest region with Kevin’s appointment,” said John Adams, Gensler’s Co-Regional Managing Principal of the Southwest region. “Kevin’s commitment to our clients, to his teams, and to the design of industry-defining projects has significantly grown our impact in southern California, and I’m excited to partner with him to extend that impact across the entire region.”

Since joining Gensler’s Los Angeles office in 1998 Kevin’s leadership has helped guide and expand the firm into a southern California powerhouse. In 2010, Kevin transitioned to San Diego and under his leadership the office grew into the most impactful design firm in the area, responsible for notable projects across disciplines including life sciences and research, higher education, retail, entertainment, mixed use, and aviation.

Kevin notes, “I’m excited to partner with John as a co-leader of the Southwest region. I’ve spent the past decade growing and leading our San Diego office, working with amazing clients and leading incredibly talented Gensler teams. I am particularly looking forward to growing and expanding Gensler’s impact for our clients, partners, and communities across the Southwest.”

In addition to Kevin’s new regional role, he will remain Co-Managing Director of the San Diego office.
