Gensler Announces Key Leadership Addition in Las Vegas
Hospitality Industry Leader Joyen Vakil Joins Gensler Las Vegas as Co-Managing Director and Global Director of Hospitality
LAS VEGAS – Gensler, the world’s leading architecture, design, and planning firm, has announced the hire of hospitality industry leader Joyen Vakil, as Co-Managing Director of the firm’s Las Vegas office and Global Director of Hospitality.
“Joyen is an accomplished architect and hospitality industry veteran with a track record of designing and managing complex hotel, hospitality, mixed-use, and integrated resort and gaming projects in Las Vegas and around the world,” notes John Adams, Co-Regional Managing Principal of Gensler’s Southwest region. “Joyen’s deep knowledge and understanding of integrated resort and gaming design principles combined with his creative vision will be incredible assets to the Gensler team.”
Spanning a distinguished 30-year career, Joyen has played a pivotal leadership role in shaping the design and architecture of numerous high-profile projects including the CapEx portfolio of MGM Resorts’ owned assets and ground up development of projects such as CityCenter, Aria, Crystals, Delano, and The Park at T-Mobile Arena. In his past experience as the SVP of Design & Development at MGM Resorts, Joyen partnered with Gensler for two decades, realizing significant global projects. Most recently, Joyen served as the SVP of Design and Development at Bally’s.
