Sumita is an accomplished leader, serving as Gensler’s Global Work Sector Leader and overseeing the Media practice for the Southeast region. With over 25 years of experience, she brings extensive expertise to deliver innovative projects tailored to our clients’ diverse needs and markets. Having lived and worked in global cities such as Washington, D.C., New York, London, and New Delhi, Sumita possesses a deep understanding of how geography and culture shape design. Her broad geographical experience, combined with her proficiency in campus planning, architecture, interiors, and workplace strategy, allows her to create spaces that are contextually responsive and adaptable to evolving requirements.
Since joining Gensler in 2005, Sumita has led projects globally, including significant work in India, and has forged close collaborations with leading media organizations. Her comprehensive skills and collaborative approach drive impactful contributions to Gensler’s success and the broader architectural landscape.
As a recognized thought leader, Sumita has been featured in prestigious publications like The Washington Post and Interior Design. She is also a sought-after speaker at industry events such as ULI. Sumita holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from C.E.P.T in Ahmedabad, India, and a Master’s degree in Architecture from Syracuse University.
