Pete Chalfant, AIA

Pete is a Studio Director and Hospitality Leader for Gensler’s South Central region. He has over 20 years of experience delivering impactful hospitality projects, ranging from 65-key properties to 2,000-key hotels, and spanning from urban high-rises to destination resort properties, and everything in between. With a background in historic preservation in addition to his hospitality design expertise, Pete has a deep understanding of the amazing stories our buildings can tell and the immense value of sharing a place through the storytelling lens of design. His design management point of view is colored by the need for all of his projects to bring meaningful value to the world.

As a Hospitality Leader, he guides the design process by leveraging not only his design background, but also his own experience as a former client, having spent several years developing music venues, bars, and restaurants. This enriching experience informs Pete’s appreciation for what it means to sit in the client’s seat and ultimately enables him to operate with that client mindset in focus.
