John Taylor

John is the Critical Facilities practice area leader for Gensler’s Asia Pacific and Middle East region, providing thought leadership and market strategy for data centers. He is a well-connected industry figure in the global data center market with a solid reputation in mission critical infrastructure topics. In his vast experience of more than 30 years in Asia, John has held leadership roles in several sectors including construction, real estate, infocomm, building products, industrial, oil & gas, Petrochem, rail transportation, and energy, including renewables.

His experience working in general management positions in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, and Dubai have provided him with a broad knowledge of the built environment from a design and construction perspective. A trained electrical engineer in his early career, he holds a Masters degree in General Management from the London Business School Sloan Fellows program. John has been featured as a keynote speaker at industry events, including Data Centre World and Cloud & Data Center Convention, championing the importance of sustainability in data center architectural design.
