Joan Capdevila-Puig, RA

Joan is a Design Director based in Gensler’s Singapore office with 18 years of experience. He is a versatile registered Spanish architect with experience across offices in Barcelona, London, and Singapore. Trained in architecture in Spain and Germany, Joan has led successful and award-winning projects in the education, residential, mixed-use, conservation, and master planning sectors. His experience spans across project sizes, types, and complexities, giving him broad exposure in many sectors and at all stages. His ability to think holistically allows bold and innovative concepts to become fully realized. Joan strongly believes that a building is not the product of a single mind, but the creation of a collaborative team, beginning with the clients, colleagues, and consultants, and extending to the last bricklayer and end user.

Joan has worked on projects in international markets such as Spain, UK, Greece, Singapore, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, and Australia, demonstrating his ability to embrace different cultures and building codes while effectively communicating, collaborating, and adapting across a variety of environments.
