David is a global leader of Gensler’s Mixed Use & Retail Centers practice. Dedicated to the pursuit of originality, imagination, and the alchemy of urban experience, he brings more than 35 years of multi-disciplinary design and planning expertise to his experience-driven architecture.
He is known for championing an imaginative weave of storytelling and placemaking to invigorate design, producing works that synthesize commerce and evolving consumer lifestyles. His expertise is reflected in a robust portfolio of mixed-use and urban plans throughout the world. David promotes a culture of interdisciplinary discourse that enhances communication, promotes collaboration, and amplifies awareness for new technologies and building systems.
David’s projects have won numerous awards and he has been named Retail Groundbreaker by the Los Angeles Business Journal and awarded the Architectural League of New York’s Prize as the Emerging Voice. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the International Council of Shopping Centers, where he contributes to industry dialogue on the future and the evolution of the communal experience into new forms of urban hybrids.
