Booking.com Toronto
Toronto, Ontario
Booking.com tasked Gensler with designing a highly collaborative customer service center to attract diverse talent to their downtown Toronto location. Their goal was to create a space that inspires learning, promotes health and wellness, and pays homage to elements unique to the city. To achieve this, the design team developed a “Downtown/Out of Town” concept that mixes known Toronto urban traits with cottage country living. The city scape is captured with exposed concrete and plywood walls layered with graffiti. Animals are used to instill the local cottage living concept with paw prints of deer, ducks, racoon, and rabbits leading visitors through the space. In an effort to encourage health and wellness, the majority of the workspace has unassigned seating, which encourages employees to find a desk that suites their current work mode.
